Northeast Arkansas Blacksmiths

WHO ARE WE?

We started as a group in 2011 as the east chapter of Blacksmith Organization of Arkansas. In 2014 we had approximately 5 members and have expanded to approximately 50 members in 2018. We branched off and formed our own organization in August 2018. We do several public demonstrations each year and have chapter competitions. We are a family friendly group of men, women and youth that share a common interest in blacksmithing. Our clubs purpose is to be a source of information to people interested in learning about the skills, techniques and traditions of blacksmithing. While we are centrally located in the northeast Arkansas area (Jonesboro) our group is friends with and network with blacksmiths far and wide. We have visiting smiths with particularly good skills visit and demonstrate for us to expand our skills.

WHERE DO WE MEET?

We meet on the first Saturday of the month unless that falls on or near a holiday in which we will meet the following Saturday. On occasion we will have a public demonstration that will take the place of a meeting. Our meetings are held in different members shops. We always post on our Facebook page (Northeast Arkansas Blacksmiths) the upcoming meetings and events.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN?

Dues are $25.00 per year. This covers all members of the household.
